Inglewood Festival of the Arts For Community Focused Day of Engagement, Entertainment, and Awareness
Walker Family Events presents Inglewood Festival of the Arts; a one-day community-wide creative initiative for people of all ages to immerse themselves in the robust artistic culture of the Inglewood community and surrounding areas in a fun, creative, and inspiring atmosphere.
INGLEWOOD, Calif., June 20, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The city of Inglewood, a prime and culturally rich Southern Los Angeles locale, will serve as the location of the inaugural community-wide, family-centered Inglewood Festival of the Arts (IFOTA), Saturday, September 7, 2019, at Edward Vincent Jr. Park. Grammy award-winning artist, CeeLo Green and Philly rapper Bri Steves will headline the music portion of the festival.
The multifaceted IFOTA, in conjunction with The Walker Family Events Foundation (WFEF) operating through a fiscal sponsorship with Players Philanthropy Fund (PPF), will highlight and celebrate Inglewood's robust and growing community thanks to its talented residents and the construction of the new NFL stadium. Serving as an opportunity for communities adjacent to Inglewood to also take part in the exciting, informational, and creative event, IFOTA gives attendees the opportunity to connect not only with their fellow neighbors but also to those who make an impact on the city in various ways; including members of Congress, Mayor James T. Butts, the city council, community leaders, local sports teams, local restaurants owners, and more.
"Inglewood is a top tier city that has a rich history founded in the arts. And with the building of the new LA NFL stadium, which will host the 2022 Super Bowl, now is the perfect time to show the world what this hidden gem, and its residents, are made of," said Walker Family Events co-founder, Tiayana Walker.
The IFOTA starts at 11 am and will feature live performances by top local acts and other musical surprises as well as local food vendors, educational seminars, panel discussions, youth activities, and more. Hosted by KDAY's radio personality Cece Valencia and KPWR's Bryhanna, the experience-driven community event will have something for everyone and children 7 years of age and under are free with an adult. The IFOTA will host their very own Kids' Pavillion that will be a separate safe space for children to enjoy the festival. They will have their very own live music performances on the amphitheater stage, Bubblemania, face painting, balloon animals, and other exciting activations providing them with the opportunity of artistic expression surrounded by their peers. The IFOTA will also feature an installation highlighting local Inglewood artists, including the artwork of Inglewood students. that helped shape the city.
One of IFOTA's primary goals is to create grants for Inglewood low-to-moderate income residents that are directly impacted by significate rent increase due to sudden property value increase. Residents in need will be able to apply for these grants via PPF.org. The event will also function as a "Welcome to our City" introduction for proud local residents who work tirelessly to make Inglewood and surrounding areas a great place to live, work, and build.
"There is extreme importance for diversity, inclusion, and community… The IFOTA will be the perfect day of community, art, amazing live music performances, great food, and fun." said co-founder, Dan Walker. The Los Angeles based radio stations KJLH and Power 106 will both serve as media partners.
