Involution Studios Co-Founder to Kick-Off European Innovation Conference
ARLINGTON, Mass. (PRWEB) November 06, 2015 -- Dirk Knemeyer, a founder and the chairman of healthcare technology consultancy Involution Studios, is presenting a workshop at the 10th Frontiers of Interaction conference in Milan, Italy on November 12, 2015. Mr. Knemeyer keynoted the first edition of the conference in 2005 and is returning to celebrate a decade of Frontiers’ leadership in digital design and innovation.
“Frontiers started at a time when the digital design and innovation trend hadn’t really taken off,” said Mr. Knemeyer. “In that environment it was risky and speculative for Frontiers of Interaction to offer this kind of multi-disciplinary innovation event, particularly in Italy. The success of the last decade is a testament to the vision and effort of the organizers. Returning to be part of this landmark edition of the conference is a delight and honor.”
More than 40 world-class speakers will appear over the two-day event, including 15 C-level executives from innovative companies that cover each of the conference’s three content tracks: money, retail, and health. The first day of Frontiers of Interaction includes a series of workshops, where Mr. Knemeyer is presenting a workshop entitled “Redesign Love”, challenging social rules and standards around love and sex. The second day has the main conference tracks.
“We actually organized the original Frontiers of Interaction conference in 2005 in order to bring Dirk to Milan and speak to our community,” said Matteo Penzo, a Founder and the CEO of Frontiers Conferences. “That keynote, ‘The Future of Digital Product Design’, predicted a variety of trends in mobile and ubiquitous computing. Foresight is central to our mission at Frontiers, and our speakers since then have consistently offered fresh and insightful perspectives that have helped the conference grow in size and profile. Having Dirk return to celebrate our decennial edition helps bring our journey full-circle.”
Past speakers include established thought leaders like Richard Saul Wurman, founder of the TED conference, Stewart Brand, founder of The Long Now Foundation, and science fiction author Bruce Sterling. Frontiers has also featured lesser-known speakers, like researcher Amber Case and roboticist Heather Knight, who have later emerged as global visionaries in emerging technologies.
Frontiers of Interaction is the last presentation for Mr. Knemeyer in 2015. This year he has spoken to design and innovation communities in Japan, Switzerland, and his native United States, in addition to this workshop at Frontiers of Interaction. “Redesign Love” is his latest take on reimagining major social systems, following his “Redesign Democracy” publication from 2014.
