Inspira Marketing Group and LogicSource Pledge to Match Dollars for Miles for the Wilton Cure-iors Team in Million Mile Run for National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month
Norwalk, CT (PRWEB) September 17, 2013 -- Inspira Marketing Group announced it has teamed with LogicSource, both based in Norwalk, CT, to support the Wilton Cure-iors charity runners in their quest to raise $40,000 for pediatric cancer research as part of Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation’s Million Mile Run. Both Inspira and LogicSource have pledged to donate $1 for each mile a member of the Wilton Cure-iors Team runs or walks in the Million Mile Run as part of September’s Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
Each family or individual member of the Wilton Cure-iors pledges to walk or run 100 miles during the month-long race. The team has been in a neck and neck battle for first place on the Million Mile Run leaderboard – logging nearly 4,000 miles and raising more than $27,000 at the halfway mark of the event.
“As the father of four daughters, I know just how precious life really is. It gives me great pride knowing that LogicSource is supporting the Wilton Cure-iors by matching a dollar for every mile ran or walked to help fund important research that may one day lead to a cure for pediatric cancer,” said David Pennino, President and Chief Executive Officer of LogicSource. “This is a wonderful opportunity to show our commitment and support towards such an impactful cause.”
“Pediatric cancer research is underfunded. As the father of a child who has been battling cancer for the last 10 years, I appreciate every mile these fantastic people are logging and every dollar top notch companies like LogicSource donate to match their efforts,” said Jeff Snyder, founder and Chief Inspiration Officer at Inspira Marketing Group who has personally run over 100 miles for the fundraiser. “When small businesses make big sacrifices for a good cause, that’s the real definition of corporate citizenship. I applaud LogicSource and everyone who laced up their shoes and hit the pavement for the Million Mile Run.”
The nationwide initiative challenges supporters everywhere to collectively run or walk one million miles in the month of September. Participants are urged to recruit friends and family members to pledge dollar amounts for each mile or make a donation directly to the cause. Drawing on the inspiration of Foundation creator Alexandra “Alex” Scott, who set out to raise $1 million through lemonade stands in 2004, her father, running enthusiast and Foundation Co-Executive Director Jay Scott, believes reaching the million-mile goal in just 30 days is attainable.
