Successful CPLPs report that the process of studying for and getting their CPLP designation was a tremendous growth opportunity, allowed them to both learn and give back to the profession, and made a positive impact on their careers.

The Model redefines the skills and knowledge required for trainers to be successful now and in the future. It captures changes driven by digital, mobile, and social technology; demographic shifts; globalization; and economic forces.

Inspired eLearning is proud to announce that John Trest, VP of Content Development has earned the highly respected Certified Professional in Learning and Performance® credential from ATD CI (the Association for Talent Development Certification Institute). Earning the CPLP certification means John Trest possesses the experience, knowledge and skills to be a top performer in the talent development field. The rigorous and challenging CPLP certification process produces candidates with a breadth and depth of knowledge that brings significant benefit to their employers, colleagues, and clients. Employing CPLP credential holders brings respect to an organization’s training development function and helps to ensure successful learning programs and organizational impact.

“As the association dedicated to the talent management profession, ATD is at the forefront providing information on the critical skills and abilities that practitioners must have to succeed in the field,” says Tony Bingham, president of ATD CI. “The CPLP credential was built to provide talent development professionals with a means by which to increase their knowledge, competence, and confidence while proving their worth to employers,” he notes.

Becoming a CPLP provides credibility by recognizing that an individual has an overall understanding of the ten Areas of Expertise for talent development as defined by the ATD Competency Model™, and can apply this knowledge in the workplace. The Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) credential covers ten areas of expertise: Training Delivery, Instructional Design, Learning Technologies, Evaluating Learning Impact, Managing Learning Programs, Integrated Talent Management, Coaching, Knowledge Management, Change Management, and Performance Improvement.

“Organizations world-wide are facing constant transformation and complexity, including new markets, new jobs, new cultures and new competition. To thrive in any industry, especially tech, you need to invest in leadership development. We support designations that are widely recognized throughout our industry and well respected for the overall learning experience. There are good reasons why few professionals hold the CPLP accreditation, simply because it is not easy to obtain. We are proud that John has earned this impressive accomplishment and will add his experience to our team”, said Kyle Metcalf, CEO of Inspired eLearning.

John’s talent for development was most recently on display in October with the launch of Inspired eLearning’s Security First Solutions (SFS). SFS is a multilingual packaged security awareness program that delivers assessments, training, and phishing simulations through an integrated learning path.

Instrumental in the creation of this new solution, John’s team delivered incredibly creative and award-winning content that was carefully curated to drive both learner motivation and information retention. The instructional design, delivery, and measurement within SFS results in employees being proactive, empowered, and engaged as a first line of defense against a constantly evolving cyberthreat landscape.
The entire team at Inspired eLearning would like to congratulate Mr. John Trest on this prestigious and well-earned accomplishment.
