Institute of Dance Artistry Swings into Summer with New Programs
Montgomery County, PA (PRWEB) March 07, 2016 -- IDA recently added three new dance programs to its roster for the summer. “The summer dance intensives will excite and enrich dancers with a variety of styles, fantastic choreography, and performance opportunities,” said Jamie Lipskin, an instructor and director of IDA. “We are offering dance intensives for all age groups plus a camp for young dancers.”
Summer Series programs include “Mini-Intensive,” for first through sixth-graders, where students take morning classes in styles including ballet, jazz, hip-hop, Broadway and lyrical. In the afternoon, dancers will learn pieces to be performed in a two-night black box theater performance. IDA’s “Ballet Intensive” will be open to fourth-grade to college students and is the perfect program for dancers looking to improve their technique. Students take daily classes in ballet technique and pointe/pre-pointe.
The IDA Summer Series will also include “For the Love of Dance,” designed for ages four to seven. This upbeat program is ideal for budding dancers, who will learn ballet, hip-hop and Broadway in a fun, supportive environment while developing a love of dance.
“For passionate dancers who love to perform, we are also offering our ‘Dance Performance Intensive’ for the the fourth consecutive year,” said Lipskin. “This is a one-week program where students take daily technique classes in styles including ballet, jazz, modern, contemporary, jumps/turns and Broadway. Dancers are cast in professionally choreographed pieces from duets and trios to large group numbers and rehearse for a two-night black box theater performance.”
