IntelliQuote, a revered online life insurance agency, is preparing for an eventful 2014 as reports surface indicating that the vast majority of Americans have an optimistic view of the economy.
Founded in 1997, IntelliQuote has established a reputation as one of the nation’s largest and most respected online life insurance agencies. Offering unparalleled customer support and instant online life insurance quotes from top rated carriers, IntelliQuote is setting the standard for excellence in life insurance sales and service. In addition, IntelliQuote has established a highly influential online presence on both Facebook and Twitter, channels which they leverage to educate consumers about the latest life insurance products and services available to them.
A recent poll from the Wall Street Journal and NBS News has many in the financial sector talking. The poll, which measured consumer sentiment with the new health care law, President Obama’s job performance and overall faith in the economy, revealed some figures that many are calling surprising. While only 34% of those surveyed considered the new health care law a ‘good idea,’ 75% felt that the economy will remain the same or improve in 2014. This optimistic consumer sentiment is up from 65% in late October.
Those in the financial industry, specifically those in life insurance, are encouraged to hear that consumers once again have faith in the health of the economy. It’s no secret that the life insurance industry has been plagued by slowed growth as a result of waning consumer confidence in the wake of the U.S. financial crisis of 2008. In the years since, the number of Americans carrying life insurance has fallen to record lows, leaving many industry experts concerned with the financial preparedness of the average American family.
“It’s no coincidence that life insurance coverage and consumer confidence have both been at historic lows in recent years,” said Gary Lardy, President and CEO of IntelliQuote. “The welcome news of renewed consumer optimism is leading many experts to forecast a rebound in the life insurance industry, a prediction which all of us at IntelliQuote are preparing for with great enthusiasm.”
During this time of financial turmoil many Americans have been forced to reevaluate how and where they are invested. Though the economy has put many families in difficult financial situations, a climate which typically merits more life insurance protection, many made the decision to allow coverage to lapse or opted not to purchase it all together. In fact, figures from life insurance industry authority LIMRA indicate that 3 in 10 American households were uninsured in 2012 and half reported that they needed more life insurance. There is good news however, as many are expecting the growing delta between uninsured Americans families and those carrying adequate coverage to begin to shrink in the coming year.
“As consumer confidence continues to rise, it is a natural progression for consumers to once again take initiative to protect their loved ones and we will be here to help them do so,” added Lardy.
