Cornerstone Recovery Center Offers Evening Intensive Outpatient Program
Fort Lauderdale, FL (PRWEB) August 13, 2013 -- Cornerstone Recovery Center, a drug and alcohol addiction rehab facility in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, is excited to announce a new SMART Recovery®-oriented track for its evening intensive outpatient program (IOP).
SMART Recovery® teaches techniques for self-directed change to people in recovery from alcohol and drug addiction. By learning self-empowerment and self-reliance, individuals are supported and encouraged to live satisfying lives. The SMART Recovery® track can be taken individually or in conjunction with other recovery support groups.
Using the SMART Recovery® Handbook, individuals learn rational emotive behavioral therapy (REBT) to become more self-aware and to react differently to certain situations. By having more awareness of their reactions and triggers, the individuals can project a different outcome.
Robert J. (Bob) Scardino, the clinical director at Cornerstone, has been trained as a SMART Recovery® facilitator. As a certified addiction specialist, Bob runs the program along with a trained staff. The evening IOP track includes group therapy, one-on-one time with a therapist, drug testing and case management for assistance with government programs or legal issues.
“We are thrilled to be able to offer an alternative to people who work during the day or have other commitments that may prevent them from getting the additional support they need to maintain a lifestyle of recovery,” says Bob.
Cornerstone Recovery Center offers the evening IOP four times per week, from 6 pm – 9 pm. Clients should expect to participate at least three times per week throughout a 6-8 week period. Transportation is provided for people living nearby or at one of Cornerstone’s partnering halfway houses. Intensive outpatient treatment is typically covered by insurance; however, Cornerstone offers affordable pay options as well. It is their goal to maximize benefits received from insurance so that they can minimize the out-of-pocket costs to clients and their families. Good candidates for the evening IOP track includes anyone who:
• Works during the day
• Has a court order from a DUI or other charge
• Is enrolled in an Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
• Needs additional support after completing an inpatient program
In addition to the evening IOP schedule, Cornerstone also offers a daytime IOP, from 9 am – 12:30 pm, 5 days a week, and an outpatient program for people who have completed intensive outpatient treatment, but would like to stay connected and receive additional support. This is the last phase of a step down program and provides the lowest level of care and supervision.
Cornerstone’s goal is to help fill the void left by addiction with positive action in repairing mind, body and spirit. If you or a loved one is in need of additional support or treatment for recovery from drug and alcohol addiction, please contact Cornerstone Recovery Center at 954-271-2846 or info[at]cornerstonefl[dot]com.
