Interiors & Textiles Selects Community Health Awareness Council (CHAC) As Recipient Of Design For A Difference™ Makeover
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. (PRWEB) July 27, 2018 -- Interiors & Textiles announced that local nonprofit Health Awareness Council (CHAC) has been named as the official recipient of a Design For A Difference™ Mt. View makeover. The project is currently underway, with unveiling slated for Monday, July 30.
Design For A Difference™ is brought to you by the International Design Guild (IDG), an alliance of the world’s finest upscale showrooms specializing in high-end floor coverings. As a member of IDG, Interiors & Textiles serves as the local sponsor with showroom owner Fred Wee spearheading the complete charity renovation. A group of the area’s top interior designers including Lisa Sten, Diane Forese, Angela Leung and Yolanda Ng are contributed to the effort. Local and national businesses including LinkedIn, Hunter Douglas, Nourison, Steelcase, Harrell Remodeling and Tracery Builders will donate funds, goods and services.
Community Health Awareness Council (CHAC) has helped thousands of students and families with behavioral health problems since its inception in 1973. The agency’s counselors work in 34 K-12 schools across four districts, including the Los Altos School District and the Mountain View Los Altos Union High School District. The nonprofit is renovating its office located at facility located at 590 W. El Camino Real in in Mountain View.
“Improving the environment of a space by renovating it has an amazing impact on function and productivity. As a business, it’s vital for us to give back to the community where we live and work,” said Wee. “The CHAC team does such important work helping children and adults who are dealing with difficult mental health issues like grief and depression. As experts in creating interior spaces, we can really provide their staff a beautiful space from which they can continue to make a real difference for the community.”
In 2015, Wee led the Design For A Difference™ Mountain View makeover of Community Services Agency.
Interiors & Textiles is working under the mentorship of celebrity interior designer and Design For A Difference™ National Spokesperson, Mark Brunetz, who will be on-hand to film the Reveal along with a Los Angeles-based production crew.
Design For A Difference™ is the only community-based, design-driven movement that spans both the U.S. and Canada. Now in its 5th year, the initiative partners its socially-conscious members with other businesses and interior designers to make over much needed space at local charities.
