CrossContinental.org Interns Return Home after Successful Internships in Canada
Vancouver, Canada (PRWEB) July 31, 2014 -- CrossContinental.org celebrates the success of interns Jagmit Singh and Ajitesh Sohal, both students from Far Eastern University, who, earned school credit while getting practical experience in their field of interest.
As students of international relations, both interns were required to secure a practicum position and complete a minimum of 220 internship hours before qualifying for graduation. They chose to seek a practicum position abroad so as to gain international work experience and stand out from their competition. After much research, they opted to do their internship with Cross-Continental Solutions in Canada because of their support, flexibility, and interesting work projects. The organization offers international internships and volunteer abroad programs that promote cross-cultural understanding. Cross-Continental’s global involvement makes their Vancouver based head office a great place for interns interested in marketing, research, writing, etc. There are also satellite projects that can be done from remote locations.
Since both Jagmit and Ajitesh are Indian nationals attending school in the Philippines, they needed visas to enter Canada. Shortly after they applied, they were accepted and invitation letters were issued to assist them with their visa applications. With the help of these invitation letters, the two interns both obtained 5-year multiple entry visitor visas for their practicum program.
After they arrived in Canada, the Cross-Continental team worked closely with the students to match the interns with projects that were in line with their career goals and interests. Participants in their domestic internship programs receive professional support and guidance as well as providing local connections that enhance their cultural experience.
Talking about his time interning with CrossContinental.org, Jagmit said, “I am able to travel to Canada from the Philippines with the help of CrossContinental.org, and able to experience the uniqueness of Canadian culture while doing my internship here."
While Ajitesh Sohal had this to say, “My experience with CrossContinental was really special and unforgettable. I got to learn and research new things.” He continued, "I am blessed I was given a chance to do an internship with CrossContinental."
Their work at Cross-Continental primarily involved public relations and online marketing among other things. This provided them with lots of flexibility, allowing the interns to travel and explore Canada so long as they completed their work within the deadlines assigned to them. Intern Jagmit Singh said, “The offices are located in Vancouver, but I’ve been to Toronto, Montreal and Niagara, because of the flexibility they offered me to do my work. It’s been an honour to have had my internship with Cross-Continental and I will not forget this exciting and amazing experience!”
To summarize, Jagmit exclaimed, "This is a once in a life time experience, doing my internship which is mandatory for our practicum requirement by our university in Philippines and at the same time I get to enjoy every bit of my 2 month stay in Canada."
