Interweave Solutions Organizes Day of the Dead Event
Provo, UT (PRWEB) November 04, 2014 -- On October 28, 2014 parents, children, educators and community partners joined hands in celebrating a traditional Day of the Dead in Salt Lake City, UT put on by Interweave Solutions.
The day of the dead is a special celebrated tradition for many Hispanic families in memory of loved ones who have passed away. This tradition keeps their memories and legacy alive for generations to come.
Parents organized and contributed time and money. Community partners offered their products and services including Panaderia Flores providing bread, DJ Oscar played music during the event and Blue Hills Dental was a sponsor. Students performed, shared stories of, and honored those who had passed away in their lives. Everyone danced to the great traditional music and participated in a sugar skull decorating contest.
“The night was a true testament of how parent engagement really does make a difference and how it does take a village to raise a child,” says Lisette Swensen, Parent Leader Organizer at Interweave Solutions.
A Parent Leader is the title given to parents who assemble together at Kearns High to focus on involvement in children’s education. They teach embracing different cultures and languages which are strengths that empower youth to be proud of who they are.
Interweave Solutions brings people together to build self-reliance. These groups then create businesses, strengthen homes, develop communities and engage parents in their children’s education. Interweave Solutions has been together since 2006 and has been revolutionizing the charitable industry by helping people help themselves and one another through trainings and courses.
