New Memoir Describes Family’s Harrowing Kidnapping Ordeal

His debut book, “In The Dock,” (published by Xlibris) is a revealing account of the kidnapping incident that not only traumatized his father but also their entire family.
The book describes how Marion’s father, a bank manager, was kidnapped in 1977 and held for a ransom of $1 million. The ordeal lasted for 82 days and generated intense media and public attention. What made the incident even more tragic and complex was the way the incident progressed and how Marion’s family was portrayed as being the masterminds behind the plot.
In his firsthand account, Marion brings to light their side of the story, hoping to finally clear the name of his father and their family. This is also cautionary tale of the devastating effects of misplaced trust and character assassination.

About the Author
Pierre Marion was born in 1947 in the city of Sherbrooke, province of Québec in Canada. He studied Economics at the University of Sherbrooke and joined the Canadian federal government Civil Service where he served for more than 30 years. Halfway through these years, he developed a particular interest for international cooperation and the challenges associated with program delivery in the context of developing countries. He eventually served abroad in the Eastern Caribbean, in Central Africa, and in Central America Guatemala and El Salvador as a Canadian Embassy official responsible for development program implementation. After retirement in 2004, he decided to stay in Central America where he still lives.
