Pittsburgh-based InventHelp attempts to submit an invention, Bear Claw, to companies for review.

When the outer hexagonal surface of a spark plug is worn away by other tools, it is incredibly difficult to get it out of the engine. To lend a helping hand, an inventor from Brevard, N.C., created a prototype for the patent-pending BEAR CLAW.

The tool makes it easier to remove spark plugs from an engine. It is ideal for removing stripped spark plugs. The device saves time and effort, and eliminates hassles and frustrations. It can be used by professionals and do-it-yourselfers alike. Additionally, the accessory is suitable for other applications.

The inventor's professional experience provided the inspiration for the idea. "I saw a need for such a tool at my job," he said. "It is almost impossible to remove spark plugs once they are stripped. That is why I invented a tool just for this purpose."

The original design was submitted to the Charlotte office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
