Most vehicles on the road come with built-in hazard lights, which are intended for use when the motorist needs to indicate to other drivers that they need to drive at a reduced speed or will not be following traditional traffic patterns. Hazard lights serve a very important purpose and contribute to increased safety, but pose the serious problem that when hazard lights are in use, the driver cannot also use a turn signal.
An inventor from Kansas City, Mo., has invented AUTO SAFETY LIGHT, an automotive lighting system that displays turn signals when the hazard lights are already activated. "I am a pastor and attend a lot of funerals," said the inventor. "When I’m riding in a funeral procession, the tail lights are flashing with no way to indicate a turn to the cars following behind me." AUTO SAFETY LIGHT helps to keep other drivers alert and informed as to what was happening and reduces the potential for confusion, misunderstandings and possible accidents.
This invention helps prevent vehicular damage, higher insurance rates, injuries, traffic delays and possible fatalities. Moreover, it provides peace of mind for safety-conscious motorists who use hazard lights while traveling.
