"I suffer from chronic back pain, which makes it difficult and painful for me when I try to bathe a child in a conventional bathtub," said one of two inventors from Saraborough, Ontario, Canada. "For this reason, I prefer to bathe young children in the kitchen sink. I devised this to make that process safer and easier."
They developed the BATH EASE to make it easier to bathe a young child in the kitchen sink. The design prevents the child from coming into contact with the hard surfaces of the sink. It also eliminates the need for the adult to bend over or kneel down, as is the case when bathing a child in a bathtub. This saves the parent or caregiver from back strain. The unit also avoids watery messes. In addition, the invention is adaptable for use with virtually any kitchen sink.
The original design was submitted to the Toronto office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
