InventHelp® Client Develops Berm Maintenance Aid (BGF-734)
Pittsburgh, PA (PRWEB) March 31, 2014 -- "Working as a road superintendent, I saw a need for a better way to maintain roadside berms," said an inventor from Monclova, Ohio. "Berm is the stone along the edge of the road that keeps a driver in control of the vehicle if a tire runs off the edge of the pavement. The materials, labor and equipment used each year to berm along the roads can be costly and time-consuming. Tire rutting is one of the biggest causes of damage to the berms. Tire rutting is the displacement of stone that gets pushed away from the asphalt when a tire leaves the pavement. If the berm is not repaired, it can cause the edge of the roadway surface (asphalt) to break down, causing more costly repairs to the roadway and the cost of purchasing additional berm stone. Municipalities are subject to insurance liability claims if these ruts are not repaired, and a driver loses control of his or her vehicle, causing a serious accident or even deaths. That is why I invented a berm dresser."
He created a prototype for the patent-pending Bucher Berm Dresser to offer an efficient way to dress berm stone. The unit repairs ruts left by tires when a vehicle leaves the pavement. The device makes it easier to maintain roadside berms. It is designed to enhance safety by reducing the risk of accidents. Additionally, it helps avoid insurance liability claims and eliminates the costly need to re-berm the entire road.
