Pittsburgh-based InventHelp attempts to submit an invention, Deploy, to companies for review.

"As an admissions counselor at George Washington University, I interact with prospective online applicants through a web cam on a daily basis," said an inventor from Columbia, Md. "Not having any appropriate backdrops, I developed one of my own."

He created a prototype for the DEPLOY to create a convenient backdrop for web-cam interactions. The accessory increases privacy and lessens distractions. This makes conversations more comfortable and secure. The system also is usable to create a screen on which to watch videos, presentations, etc. The unit is easy to set up and take down, and customizable. Furthermore, the invention is adaptable for use in building other structures.

The original design was submitted to the Baltimore office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
