Emergency vehicles face the challenge of reaching their destination as soon as possible despite busy roadways and traffic signals. Their success depends on the consideration of drivers in clearing a safe path for them. Fortunately, an inventor from Lawndale, Calif., decided to make it easier for drivers to be aware of a nearby emergency vehicle in order to move safely out of its way.
The main reason he developed FIRST CALL DETECTION is that it enables a motorist to hear and respond to the sirens of an approaching emergency vehicle quickly. As such, it improves the life-saving capability of emergency vehicles. At the same time, it saves lives and prevents injuries and property damage from motor vehicle accidents. As a result, it reduces the number of insurance claims filed and has the potential to lower automobile insurance premiums. In addition, it is easy to install, effective and affordably priced but does not does not detract from the appearance of the car.
The inventor’s personal concerns inspired the idea. “I realized that it’s very hard for drivers to hear approaching emergency vehicles with distractions like the car radio or other music playing,” he said. “As a result, these drivers are all too often involved in automobile accidents.”
