Improved Drag System for Fishing Reels Invented by InventHelp Client (TPA-1918)

InventHelp, a leading inventor service company, is working to submit this idea, the Smart Drag, to companies for their consideration and possible feedback.

As a fishing enthusiast, you may have experienced, all too often, the loss of a fish because the line broke. Now, however, an inventor from Tampa, Fla., has found a way to prevent that from happening.

He developed a prototype for the patent-pending Smart Drag to give the angler an advantage he or she never had before, an indication of the amount of tension being applied to the line at a given time.

As such, it reduces the chances that the angler will lose a fish because of a broken line. What's more, it eliminates the need to touch the line to see how much tension is present. It also helps fishing enthusiasts use the full strength of the line without breaking it.

Furthermore, its simple design minimizes expenses to keep the consumer price low. Moreover, it is suitable for use with various styles and types of reels from low-end models to more expensive ones. In addition, it is ideal for modifying stock drag systems quickly and easily with minimal alterations.

The inventor's fishing experience inspired the idea. "As an avid fisherman," he said, "I have lost fish many times because the drag was too tight for the line and I had no way of knowing how much tension was being applied."

The original design was submitted to the Tampa office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
