InventHelp, an invention submission company in Pittsburgh, is attempting to submit the Positioning Body Block to companies for their consideration.

As funeral directors prepare bodies for burial, the embalming process can be somewhat challenging. For these individuals to whom families entrust their deceased loved ones, that process has been made easier because of the ingenuity of an inventor from Staten Island, N.Y.

His invention, POSITIONING BODY BLOCK, is designed to prevent the blocks that support the body during the embalming process conducted in a funeral home from slipping. Moreover, it adjusts in length to fit the height of different bodies. By eliminating the need to stop and reposition the body, it saves valuable time for the embalmer.

It also eliminates wasting embalming fluid and allows the fluid to properly set in body. In addition to improving the overall outcome of the embalming process, it is easy to install, operate and maintain. Finally, it is a convenient, practical and cost efficient solution to a recurring problem. The invention is patent-pending.

The inventor's work experience inspired the idea. "As a funeral director, I often had difficulty keeping the body from falling off the individual blocks during the embalming process," he said. "I wanted to find a way to keep the blocks from moving so that wouldn't happen."

The original design was submitted to the New Jersey office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
