Pittsburgh-based InventHelp is attempting to submit this idea, the Holt Shower Shoe, to companies for their consideration.

"I had surgery on my foot, and while recovering, I had to keep it dry for six weeks," said an inventor from Vancouver, Wash. "This made it difficult to shower. I looked for products on the market to cover and protect my sore foot but found nothing, so I invented this."

He developed the patent-pending HOLT SHOWER SHOE to provide enhanced traction. The accessory reduces the risk of slips and falls. This helps lessen the incidence of injuries, which is designed to keep your foot dry and enhance personal safety. The unit provides peace of mind while showering. Additionally, it is ideal for use by individuals recovering from surgery, the elderly and those with limited mobility.

The original design was submitted to the Portland office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
