InventHelp Invention Provides Germ Protection For Public High Chairs and Shopping Carts (SAH-775)

InventHelp, based in Pittsburgh, Pa., is submitting the HYGENIE to appropriate companies for their review.

When babies sit in public high chairs or shopping carts they are vulnerable to many germs and also tend to make messes that need to be cleaned up, thus transferring germs to surfaces on the high chairs or carts that others might contact. Those others go far beyond the parents or guardians, making the transfer of germs and possible illnesses to the people who work in such public places an issue.

"This inspired me to design a better way to enhance sanitation and ease cleanup, not only for parents and guardians but moreover and more importantly for the employees in the hospitality, food-service and shopping-center industries who are expected to keep high chairs and shopping carts clean," said an inventor from Napa, Calif.

The easy-to-use HYGENIE provides germ protection for the baby while sitting in a restaurant high chair or shopping cart, provides a barrier to inhibit germ transfer to individuals (other than the baby) who might have to clean up after use, as well as for follow-up users, including the next baby. It allows for rapid deployment by either the parent, guardian or service individual, as well as extremely and rapid easy cleanup, saving time and effort, especially in busy food-service environments. Overall, the HYGENIE promotes sanitation and peace of mind for anyone involved in the care of the infant. The idea is patent pending.

The original design was submitted to the Sacramento office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
