A leading inventor service firm, InventHelp is submitting the INREACH HELPER to companies for their consideration.

With patient care the top priority for hospital administrators, they need to take advantage of amenities that not only benefit the patients but the nurses who care for them. That’s exactly what an inventor from Burlington, Ky., who is also a nurse technician, was thinking when he came up with an idea that improves patient comfort and helps nurses better serve their patients at the same time.

He developed INREACH HELPER to keep standard hospital bed remote control devices and patient cell phones easily accessible. As such, it prevents a patient from getting tangled in remote control wires, or it prevents a possible fall due to the patient trying to retrieve the remote after it's been dropped on the floor. This will surely help prevent accidental nurse calls. Thus, it saves time and effort for nurses. What’s more, it is safe, versatile and easy to use. This practical invention is also sturdy, lightweight and portable. Other appealing features are its convenience, effectiveness and affordable price. In addition, it is easy to clean and disinfect between patients to avoid the spread of germs.

The inventor’s professional experience inspired the idea. “While working as a nurse technician, I encountered many situations in which patients either lost the remote control unit or got the wire tangled,” he said. “This idea solves those problems without assistance from a nurse.”

The original design was submitted to the Cincinnati office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
