InventHelp, founded in 1984, is attempting to submit The Lifesaving Tornado Shelter to industry in the hopes of a good faith review.

InventHelp, a leading inventor service company, announces that one of its clients, an inventor from Pennsylvania, has designed a shelter that offers protection from natural disasters and other catastrophes. This invention is patented.

“The Lifesaving Tornado Shelter” could protect people from dangerous weather conditions and other disasters, and is designed to enhance personal safety by reducing the risk of injury. The shelter could prevent victims from becoming trapped in a basement, and could ensure that rescue personnel can find occupants quickly. Suitable for both interior and exterior use, The Lifesaving Tornado Shelter is designed for tornadoes, hurricanes and nuclear disasters. This product could also be used in schools, shopping malls, office buildings and locations without a basement.

The domed shelter would be covered with insulated rubber coating made from hard vinyl. The coating could be smooth or feature a turtle-shell design, and beneath the coating is 4 to 6 inches of aluminum or steel, with mattress padding underneath that. The structure would be held up by supports, with an aluminum or steel base. Beneath this base is 4-feet of cement, and the structure would be attached to the cement by rebar. The shelter would be equipped with a siren or computer chip so that the occupants could be located quickly by rescuers. .

“If a tornado strikes, where would you go?” asked the inventor. “If you try to hide underground in a basement, you run the risk of becoming trapped down there as debris falls on top. To provide a better, safer, more secure place to hide out, I came up with the idea for this shelter.”

InventHelp is attempting to submit the invention to companies for review. If substantial interest is expressed, the company will attempt to negotiate for a sale or royalties for the inventor. For more information, telephone Dept. 12-WGH-4270 at (800) 851-6030.
