"While watching search-and-rescue operations on TV, we realized that a lot more could be done to find missing people," said one of two inventors from Richmond, Va. "We put our heads together and devised a rotorcraft with enhanced capabilities for locating and assisting those in need."
They developed the LITTLE JACK to provide an effective way to perform search-and-rescue operations in difficult-to-access areas. It also offers first aid for located victims. The unit sets up for deployment and launch in a matter of minutes. It assists with locating individuals with severe injuries from falls on mountainous terrain. The craft also can provide avalanche control. Additionally, the invention is ideal for use during floods, fires, heavy snow, avalanches, night rescue, mountainous terrain search/rescue, shark patrol and water rescue.
