Pittsburgh-based InventHelp is working to submit this idea, the Total Comfort, to companies for their review.

"I had a patient with no legs who asked me to design a bedpan that would be more comfortable for her," said an inventor from Brooklyn, N.Y. "I put my mind to it and came up with an accessory that makes any toilet seat or bedpan more comfortable."

She developed the Total Comfort to enhance the comfort of a toilet seat, commode or bedpan. The accessory ends the need to twist or turn to find a comfortable position. This helps the user relax. It also promotes regular use of the bathroom. Additionally, the invention offers added peace of mind and is designed for ease of use.

The original design was submitted to the Manhattan office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
