InventHelp, founded in 1984 in Pittsburgh, is attempting to submit this idea, the Protect Cup, to applicable companies for their consideration.

PITTSBURGH...An inventor, from Kenansville, N.C., thought there needed to be a better way to cover and protect a drainage needle, so she invented the PROTECT CUP.

The PROTECT CUP provides an improved way to temporarily cover a drainage needle. In doing so, it helps to prevent the needle from being bumped or pulled. As a result, it enhances protection and comfort. The invention features an effective design that is convenient and easy to use so it is ideal for hospitals and medical facilities. Additionally, the PROTECT CUP is producible in design variations and a prototype is available.

The inventor described the invention design. “My design offers an improved alternative to traditional cups and tape.”

The original design was submitted to the Durham office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
