Pittsburgh-based InventHelp attempts to submit an invention, Retractable EKG Leads, to companies for review.

"All EKG pads have lengthy cable leads. In a routine emergency situation, the technician has to untangle these cumbersome cable leads before the procedure is done, which wastes time," said an inventor from Suitland, Md. "In an emergency, time is of the essence."

He developed the Retractable EKG Leads to make EKG leads more manageable. The accessory eliminates the need to untangle cords before use. This saves time and effort in an emergency situation. The unit makes the procedure easier to manage. Additionally, it measures SpO2 and heart rate and enables technicians to work more orderly and efficiently.

The original design was submitted to the Baltimore office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
