InventHelp® Client Develops Equipment for Surgical and Bedridden Patients (HCD-279)
Pittsburgh, PA (PRWEB) August 29, 2014 -- "I have had many hospital stays, including five back surgeries and four neck surgeries, as well as many other surgeries in my lifetime, as I am a burn patient," said an inventor from Richmond, Texas. "During my stays, I was unable to move freely in order to prevent pneumonia, bedsores, stiffness and many other ailments. Two nurses freely had to physically rotate me every 30 minutes to 2 hours. The nurses stood on either side of me and pulled the sheets. This was jarring and caused me major pain. The aid of this invention would minimize the pain in patients, as well as protect the caregivers from back injuries."
She developed the ROBOTIC REPOSITIONING SYSTEM to offer a quick and easy way to rotate a patient. The system ensures that the patient has minimal pain while he or she is rotated. The design reduces stress and strain while keeping the body tempature regulated and protects caregivers from back injuries. The invention decreases the chances of bedsores, stiffness and other medical problems. Additionally, it makes hospital stays and bed-bound patients more comfortable. The invention is patent-pending.
The original design was submitted to the Houston office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
