Improved Skirt System Invented for Tractor Trailers - Designed by InventHelp Clients (TOR-9434)
PITTSBURGH, PA (PRWEB) December 03, 2015 -- Everyone involved in the trucking industry faces the challenges of rising fuel and vehicle maintenance and repair costs. Fortunately, relief is in sight for trucking companies, professional truck drivers and truck manufacturers as a result of the creative thinking of two inventors from Mississauga, Ontario.
They developed SKIRT NO SKIRT to provide needed clearance for large commercial tractor trailers backing in and pulling out of driveways. As such, it prevents tractor trailer skirts from damage in steep or raised driveway entrances. It also permits the use of underbody aerodynamic devices that are otherwise prohibited. As a result, it reduces vehicle repair expenses. It does so by allowing the trailer skirt to extend and retract or raise and lower as needed. Furthermore, it affords both automatic and manual operation. At the same time, it redirects and improves air flow beneath the trailer. Thus, it reduces diesel fuel costs and carbon emissions. In addition, it is convenient, efficient and durable.
The inventors were inspired by experience in the trucking industry. “We wanted to find some way to avoid having the trailer skirt bottom out or become stuck when the vehicle moves in and out of loading zones,” one of them said.
