InventHelp, a Pittsburgh-based invention submission firm, is submitting the STREETVIZ TECHNOLOGY to companies for their consideration.

Statistics reflect that as the number of motorcycles on the road increases, so does the number of accidents between motorcycles and other motor vehicles. However, an inventor from Columbia, S.C., has found a way to help drivers avoid such collisions.

He developed STREETVIZ TECHNOLOGY to improve safety for motorcycle riders. As such, it adds visibility to motorcyclists so it's easier for other motorists to see them. In other words, it alerts motorists to cyclists’ signals when they stop, change lanes, and turn. As a result, it helps prevent vehicle accidents involving collisions between motorcycles and cars. Therefore, it reduces the chances of roadway fatalities and property damage. At the same time, it meets all Department of Transportation safety requirements for optimum rider protection. It is also visually attractive, easy to operate and affordably priced. In addition, it is aerodynamic, comfortable and convenient.

The inventor’s personal observations inspired the invention. “After seeing how vulnerable motorcyclists are on the road and hearing and reading too many accident reports involving motor cycles,” he said, “I wanted to provide cyclists with some extra protection.”

The original design was submitted to the Columbia office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
