An inventor from Arlee, Mont., wanted a way to help ensure the safety of snowmobile and ATV riders in the case of an accident or the rider falling off. As such, he invented the patent-pending TETHER BRAKE.
The invention is designed to ensure that a rider-less ATV or snowmobile does not continue on its way to cause mayhem. This could help prevent injury to the rider as well as spectators. It could also prevent damage to the vehicle by causing it to instantly stop if the rider falls off.
The inventor was inspired by his own experience with ATVs and snowmobiles. "A kill switch stops the engine in the case of an accident, but does not stop the vehicle's motion," said the inventor. "I knew that an improved safety device could be created."
The original design was submitted to the National Sales Office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
