Pittsburgh-based InventHelp is attempting to submit this idea, the My Comfy Tray, to companies for their consideration and possible feedback.

"I enjoy sitting on my couch and watching TV while I eat my meals," said an inventor from El Cerrito, Calif. "I have a regular flat TV tray that I normally use, but I find that it is uncomfortable and awkward, so I came up with an improved design to make my life easier."

She developed the MY COMFY TRAY to make it easier to eat while seated or lying down. The tray enables the user to watch TV while eating meals. It provides an alternative to conventional TV trays. The design enhances comfort and convenience and also keeps the user from dropping food on him- or herself. Furthermore, the invention is ideal for the elderly and bedridden, as well as children.

The original design was submitted to the Sacramento office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
