Pittsburgh-based InventHelp, a leading inventor service company, is attempting to submit this idea, the Talking Tape, to companies for their review.

An inventor and construction worker from Miami Gardens, Fla., wants to provide a more convenient way to use a tape measure.

"I work in construction, so I use a tape measure all the time," he said. "However, it’s a hassle to always have a pencil and paper when climbing stairs, laying tiles, measuring heights and widths, etc. I know my idea and design will solve all problems in every way or form in my profession and other professions." The patent-pending Talking Tape meets this need.

This improved tape measure makes it easier to keep track of measurements, ideas, tips, notes and much more by speaking to the Talking Tape's internal memory. It saves time, energy and effort by providing efficiency and accuracy. It also eliminates the need for a pad and pencil. The ergonomic tool is easy to use in all fields and by all ages, and it serves as a new tool intended to maximize faster productivity compared to the old, conventional tape measures.

The original design was submitted to the Hollywood office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
