"I’ve worked in the medical field for a few years, and I’ve observed the problems elderly people have when bathing or showering: dropping the soap, having to bend over, etc.," said one of two inventors from Thomasville, N.C. "This inspired us to design a more ergonomic way to wash oneself."
The inventors created a prototype of the THERABATH, which facilitates washing during a bath or shower by eliminating the need for strain, overextension and/or bending over. As a result, it minimizes effort and avoids discomfort. The invention is ideal for the elderly, physically disabled people, hospitals, physical-rehab centers, orthopedists’ offices, nursing homes, dog/horse groomers, etc.
The original design was submitted to the Raleigh/Durham office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
