Inventors from InventHelp Develop Sports-Bottle Accessory (KPD-113)
Pittsburgh, PA (PRWEB) December 07, 2013 -- We both know the importance of hydrating before, during and after workouts," said one of two inventors from Willow Grove, Pa. "For many years, we utilized sports bottles from a variety of sources: those bought specifically for running (with hand-held or belt holder), giveaways from races or other sources (cheaper bottles with sponsor information on them), etc.
The common denominator with all of these bottles is that in a short period of time, despite regular, vigorous washing (by hand and machine), the bottles would begin to retain and emit odors, and show signs of bacterial growth.
Many of the bottles prove difficult to wash (with grooved indentations creating hard-to-reach areas that could never be completely cleaned). Concerned about the potential issues with ‘uncleanable’ bottles, we were looking for alternatives. The idea came to mind that sanitary, single-use bottles are everywhere. Bottled water and sports drinks are a huge retail business.
The Universal Sports Bottle Cap can transform any of these beverage containers into a ready-to-use sports bottle, which can then be disposed of upon completion (or after one or two additional refills). The life-span of the bottle is entirely up to the discretion of the consumer." The idea is patent pending.
They created a prototype for the U.S.B. CAP to enable the use of any drink bottle as a sports bottle. The design saves the user from having to drink out of unsanitary beverage bottles. The device temporarily extends the life of the bottle, which is better for the environment. Additionally, it helps with the recycling and reuse of plastics, and it is usable for marketing and promotional purposes.
The original design was submitted to the King of Prussia office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
