Pittsburgh-based InventHelp attempts to submit an invention, The Handy Hand, to companies for review.

Have you ever struggled to put lotion on your own back? If so, then you could have used THE HANDY HAND.

The accessory offers a convenient way to apply lotion to or scratch your back. The unit eliminates the need to ask for assistance, and it saves the user from having to stretch and strain. The device also is usable to apply lotion to or scratch other hard-to-reach areas. Additionally, it is ideal for individuals with limited mobility.

The inventor's personal experience inspired the idea. "My idea was inspired by the worthless days I spent unable to apply lotion to my back the way that I wanted to," he said.

The original design was submitted to the Bingham Farms office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
