Dirty Dialing: The Truth is Out About Where Mobile Devices Are Used
Lake Saint Louis, MO (PRWEB) August 13, 2013 -- Gold diggers beware. The more money someone makes, the more likely they are to use a mobile device while getting intimate with a partner. The majority 6.1% of people admitting to using a phone while getting intimate make between $75,000 and $99,000 annually.
Intimate Dialing
While it’s no surprise that people ages 18-24 are the most likely to use phone while getting intimate with a partner, when broken down by gender, it’s men ages 35-44 who are using their phones the most while getting intimate, with 7.9% reporting doing so. Only 2.9% of their female counterparts ages 35-44 report using phones in intimate scenarios.
First Dates
But if women 25-34 are complaining chivalry is dead, maybe they should look up from their phones at the start of a relationship. In this age group, 14.7% of females admit to using their phones on a first date, with only 6.7% of men reporting doing so from the same age group. Women in general are more likely to use a phone on a first date, but it’s the youngest generation that’s setting the curve, with 16.7% of males and 14.5% of females ages 18-24 reporting using a device on a first date.
Our dirty Secret
But money doesn’t just impact mobile usage in the bedroom. The less money someone makes, the more likely they are to use your phone in the bathroom. A majority 35.3% of people who report using their mobile devices in a bathroom have a salary at or below $24,999. So does more money equal better hygiene, or just better time management?
And for those whose devices fall victim to toilets, tubs and showers, users of any income level can be out up to $1000 to replace their device if they are out of contract or without warranty.
Blame the Commute, Public Use
It’s not just how much money someone makes, but also where they live. Urbanities are more likely than their suburban and rural counterparts to use their phones while in church, in a movie theatre and while getting intimate with a partner. Rural dwellers are most likely to use mobile devices while getting a beauty/spa treatment, on a first date and while using a bathroom And those in the suburbs? They’re most likely to use their mobile devices while driving. Perhaps the result of long commutes? Texting drivers are also most likely to have an income of $100-149,999K and be between 45-54 years old.
Let’s face it. Whether in the bathroom, the bedroom or on the freeway, we’re addicted to those mobile devices. 77% of consumers say that they’re uncomfortable being away from their phones for more than a few minutes. Looks like we can expect more cell phone spa treatments and bad date manners.
