ISBER Launches Japanese Translation of Best Practices: Recommendations for Repositories, Fourth Edition
VANCOUVER, British Columbia (PRWEB) September 05, 2018 -- The International Society for Biological and Environmental Repositories (ISBER) is pleased to announce the release of the Japanese translation of Best Practices: Recommendations for Repositories, Fourth Edition.
The Fourth Edition publication, originally released in January 2018, is a practice-changing publication aimed at advancing the science of biobanking to meet the needs of a growing industry. The English publication has been downloaded over 1000 times, and this translation will help meet the needs of more members worldwide and facilitate further growth in this field.
“The ISBER Best Practices 4th Edition aims to sustain and support biobankers everywhere,” said David Lewandowski, President of ISBER. “Translating these Best Practices into multiple languages aligns with ISBER’s position as the leading resource in repository management – and the Japanese translation of Best Practices is but one more step in our goal.”
“Good translations are needed to make the Best Practices accessible to a wider audience,” said Dr. Koh Furuta, Head Director of the Council of Industrial Use of Biological and Environmental Repositories (CIBER) in Japan. “This Japanese translation was prepared so that the wording is harmonized with the translations of ISO documents, including ISO 20387 and ISO 15189. By sharing these good practices, we look forward to further advancing the science of biobanking in Japan.”
ISBER would like to thank the many Japanese colleagues for their involvement in the translation of this publication, as well as CIBER and the ISBER Director at Large for the Indo-Pacific area, Dr. Daniel Catchpoole, for their critical support in this effort.
