Capriccio Latino’s Grand Opening Events Were Successful
New Rochelle, NY (PRWEB) September 30, 2013 -- Capriccio Latino celebrated its grand opening in August with two celebratory events. They held a Neighborhood Appreciation Day and a day for the media to come and enjoy their authentic Italian and Latin Cuisine.
The Neighborhood Appreciation Day saw over 120 guests come to the restaurant, including organizations like New Rochelle Chamber of Commerce, Boys & Girls Club of New Rochelle, City Council and City Manager’s office and many appreciated patrons and neighbors.
During the event, Nick Di Costanzo, owner of Capriccio Latino, announced their donation to the Boys & Girls Club of New Rochelle and that they will be partnering with them for their Career Launch Event. The Career Launch event involves children from the Boys & Girls Club coming to the restaurant and visiting with Nick and his staff to learn about being a restaurateur and owning a successful business for 30 years. They will also spend time with the chef and event manager and discuss those as possible career paths as well.
David Patterson and his jazz band played as guests enjoyed a medley of appetizers, like bruschetta with goat cheese and chick peas, in addition to a buffet with an array of foods like penne a la vodka, meatballs, paella, chicken scarpariello and steak. Guests also enjoyed a line-up of desserts like tiramisu, chocolate cake and flan.
Patterson and his Latin Jazz ensemble also played on the day of the Media event for an intimate dinner of about 40 people. There were media outlets present from Cablevision, News 12, Journal News, Bronx News, El Sol, Guardian News, Televisión Domicana and the entire Daily News Digital Solutions Team, among others that came to enjoy a tasting of many items on the menu.
Tasting for the media event included appetizers such as crostinis with broccoli rabe, homemade mozzarella with fire roasted peppers and San Daniele prosciutto and aged balsamic. Pastas included were: Orecchiette with sweet-hot sausage, san marzano tomatoes and garlic oil; linguini with shrimp, plum tomatoes marinated artichokes and white wine sauce. Guests enjoyed entrees of: Bavetto Al Cabernet, a grilled skirt steak with wild mushrooms and onions and a cabernet wine reduction; Salmon Capriccio, a baked salmon fillet with white wine and lemon; and Pernil Viejo San Juan, a slow roast pork.
Delicious desserts topped off the meal, including cannoli, flan, cheesecake, and tres leches.
Patron Liz Laccetti said, "We frequented Mamma Francesca's for over 18 years. This place was a second home to us both in regards to food and atmosphere. We are so happy that we can again enjoy a similar place in our neighborhood.”
