Izenda Accepting Applications for the 2017 Izenda Embedded BI & Analytics Scholarship in Honor of National Scholarship Month
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) November 21, 2016 -- In honor of National Scholarship Month, Izenda, offering a self-service business intelligence (BI) and analytics platform for OEM use by software companies and solutions providers, announces applications for the 2017 Izenda Embedded BI & Analytics Scholarship are now open.
Izenda will award one undergraduate or graduate student enrolled in an accredited U.S. college or university the $1,000 scholarship in support of their interest in pursuing a career that focuses on improving the way data is used to make decisions that lead to better outcomes.
Izenda awarded its first scholarship to Logan Bement, a 2016 graduate of the University of Connecticut, Storrs, Conn. Bement interned for the Boston Red Sox in its marketing department, which formed the basis for his application project. According to Lee Nagel, Izenda’s Vice President of Marketing, "Our first scholarship winner confirmed our confidence in the new generation. They are ready to further revolutionize BI solutions, providing a positive impact in the way business is done.”
Application Specifics
“This year we are encouraging applications to use data that might come straight from today’s headlines,” said Nagel. “The ability to unlock the power of data to inform strategic decisions is at the heart of Izenda’s value proposition. We strongly believe the future of innovation lies in a world where individuals can perform analytics in real-time inside the applications they use on a daily basis to make better data driven decisions.”
The 2017 Izenda Embedded BI & Analytics Scholarship submissions should tell a story by leveraging a real-world data source. Applications must create a sample dashboard, a set of charts, or visualizations that feature data on one of the following five topics:
• 2016 US election season
• Financial market trends
• Impact of Pandemics: the Zika virus or Ebola
• Technology-related themes such as trends in languages or platforms
• Sports-related matters
As an example, submissions might contain a dashboard visualization to show where in a particular state pollsters got the 2016 election wrong, or could track the spread of a disease against public health interventions.
Applicants are not required to create their submissions using the Izenda embedded self-service BI platform but data must be real and sources noted. Submissions in the form of a document, spreadsheet, PowerPoint-type presentation or another digital format are acceptable.
Visit the Izenda scholarship page for the rules and follow the directions on how to apply.
Eligible students must be currently enrolled, or accepted as a student, in an accredited American college or university. A scan of a current student ID must accompany the completed application using the online form.
All work submitted must be entirely the applicant’s own and cannot be coursework assigned in a class. Deadline for submissions is 5:00pm ET, April 30, 2017. Submissions become the property of Izenda, Inc.
