J Vollbrecht Consulting Celebrates One Full Year in Business
With over fifteen years of experience leading multi-disciplinary teams, accomplishing missions, and delivering complex products and capabilities in the defense industry, Jennifer Vollbrecht is the CEO of this woman-owned business.
MANTECA, Calif., May 17, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- On May 1st, Jennifer Vollbrecht met with her three employees over video chat to share a toast celebrating one year in business with J Vollbrecht Consulting (JVC). They arrived with wine in hand and congratulated each other on a year of incredible team work. With over fifteen years of experience leading multi-disciplinary teams, accomplishing missions, and delivering complex products and capabilities in the defense industry, Jennifer Vollbrecht is the CEO of this woman-owned business.
The culture of JVC consists of team dynamics with four talented people, working remotely in Northern California. They come together for virtual meetings or "dinners out" every couple of months to brainstorm and bounce around ideas, while sharing accomplishments. Group emails and a Trello board keep them in the loop on current and long-term projects, on the daily.
Jennifer Vollbrecht brings her warmth and enthusiasm to the job, just like she does in her life outside of work. A mom to two amazing children, with a husband who is an equal partner in raising their family, they teach their children about giving back to the community. For instance, her kids set up a lemonade stand in January because they wanted to raise money to help with the Australian wild fires. They raised $40 and their parents matched it for a donation to the Australian Red Cross.
Jennifer volunteers with Veterans to give back as she is a Veteran herself. She served in the Marine Corps from 2004 -2009 as a helicopter crew chief/door gunner. Her husband Nate, also served in the Marines, which is why they raise their family with a sense of community, passing down the legacy of patriotism.
Attending a Veteran's Day event last fall at Bob Hope Theatre, her daughter Natalie said: "Thank you for your service, Mommy." She has been to enough of these events to understand. Vollbrecht is involved with Fix'd Inc., a nonprofit that serves Veterans with issues involving mental health, immediate crisis, and transitioning out of the military.
Jennifer is an author of two books. She is dedicated to her businesses and blends her creative sides to produce work that will inspire families. She plants a garden every year in honor of her grandmother who had a green thumb, which she likes to say she didn't inherit, but she tries anyway! As a Master Herbalist, she grows herbs and creates custom herbal tea blends which she sells at her company: You, Me, and Uni.
She loves to be outdoors with her family to camp, hike, and travel. Most recently, Jennifer set an ambitious goal to complete an Executive Doctorate in Business at Saint Mary's College of California and is expected to complete the program in 2022.
Starting J Vollbrecht Consulting was a dream come true. She has led a bold and powerful life which has helped to prepare her for success in business. Currently JVC has supported eight client locations including National Laboratories, successfully completing over $100M in project delivery. The job takes Vollbrecht on the job site occasionally, as she travels to meet with her commercial and government clients during several key phases of a project. Generally, she stays in touch virtually and is able to service their needs effectively from anywhere.
JVC responds to government Request for Proposals (RFPs) in Technical, Scientific and Professional Services. Each proposal is expertly tailored to the needs of the agency and teams are assembled according to their talents and experience. Examples of JVC deliverables have been: Integrated Master Schedules, Risk Plan and Risk Register, Best Value Analysis, Construction Support, and Project Management Support.
"We are extremely proud of our year one accomplishments and are looking forward to continued growth and expansion into year two and beyond."
Last fall Jennifer and Ashley participated in mock interviews with UOP's (University of the Pacific, Stockton, CA) senior students to help prepare them for obtaining jobs in their field after graduation. It was such a satisfying experience and they would like to continue mentoring young people in business, as they grow JVC.
Vollbrecht is proud to say that her company includes the core values of quality, integrity, and respect in all interactions with clients and project deliverables. The goal for their second year is to focus on strategic partnerships and teaming agreements, continue adding talent to the team, and to begin an internship program.
