JailInmate.org Updates Database to Increase Accuracy
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) December 13, 2013 -- JailInmate.org is starting a major database overhaul to ensure that the records they provide to their customers are as accurate as possible, the company announced yesterday.
“The integrity of our database is our most important asset,” a JailInmate.org spokesman said. “But there are often things beyond our control that can cause errors to leak into the system. We don't want someone to make a major decision about their life based on mistaken information, so we thought this major upgrade to preserve accuracy was very important.”
Errors are introduced to the database when government agencies or the software they use makes a mistake, he said.
“The people who send the records to our database are only human,” he said. “It can be very easy for them to enter incorrect information once in a while. When that happens, though, it can make an innocent man look guilty or a guilty man look innocent. We don't want that.”
Under the new system the company will cross-reference information between two different databases, he said.
“When we find out that one database has information that contradicts the other database, it will be red flagged,” he said. “At that point we'll double check the information to find out which is right before we release any information to our customers.”
