Avid Collector Announces His Search For Original Janis Joplin 1969 Madison Square Garden Concert Posters
San Francisco, California (PRWEB) August 28, 2016 -- Avid Collector, Andrew Hawley, announces his search for original Janis Joplin 1969 Madison Square Garden concert posters. At the end of 1969, Joplin was at the pinnacle of her short career. The concert was held on December 19. According to Hawley, “Joplin played the Garden only once in her short lived career and by all accounts to it was an amazing concert. Johnny Winter joined her on stage for a duet. She had previously played the New York area at Hunter College, Stony Brook University and the Westbury Music Fair. The following August she would played the First Hills Music Festival. This striking 13 x 21 inch concert poster has a classic fillmore style layout. It was printed on stiff cardboard with a black background. The Janis picture and her name are printed in bright orange. Venue information and concert date and other lettering are in pink. The print run was rumored to be around 500 copies. The posters where hung up mostly in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens.
