Twin Oaks Golf Course Hosts Celebrities and Crew for the Filming of Golf Digest and Condé Nast’s Web Series Shanked
San Diego, CA (PRWEB) October 24, 2014 -- JC Golf’s Twin Oaks Golf Course, an 18-hole championship course located in the hills of San Marcos, California, played host to the production crew and cast of hidden-camera comedy series Shanked, released by Golf Digest and Condé Nast earlier this month.
The online video series features various celebrities—including Jim O’Heir from “Parks and Recreation,” Brian Baumgartner from “The Office,” and former NFL linebacker Shawne Merriman—undergoing hilarious golf-themed pranks. The series is available for viewing online at golfdigest.com and will also serve as the flagship series for Condé Nast’s new online content network, thescene.com.
Producers from Electric Machine Media, the company producing the series, contacted JC Golf for the opportunity due to JC Golf’s diverse portfolio of 8 courses scattered throughout San Diego County.
Ultimately, Twin Oaks Golf Course in San Marcos stood out as the ideal shooting location because the layout and landscaping of the course create several areas to conceal a production truck and equipment. Twin Oaks Golf Course has also been known to push the production envelope in past golf tournaments, making it a perfect choice for the filming of various shenanigans, including golf carts driven into ponds and police cars on the fairway.

For four days in June, JC Golf not only provided the shoot location, but also support for the crew. If the series is well-received, it’s possible future episodes will be filmed at Twin Oaks Golf Course.
