Standing Room Only Crowds Greet Team 4 Wheel Parts at Lucas Oil Off Road Season Opener
Compton, CA (PRWEB) March 25, 2015 -- Greg Adler and Team 4 Wheel Parts launched their 2015 Pro 4 campaign this past weekend before standing room only, capacity crowds at the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series season opener in Lake Elsinore, California. The excitement of short course off road racing attracted a number of NASCAR stars including Tony Stewart, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Greg Biffle who were in Southern California for the final event of their sports Western swing at California Speedway in nearby Fontana.
Although, the addition of Crew Chief, Mike Seat and Team Manager, Cory Kruseman brought a wealth of experience to Team 4 Wheel Parts, the always challenging terrain of the Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park purpose built track exacted its toll on the weekend’s results.
For the #10 Pro 4 of Greg Adler, the inaugural round of the year started with great promise as the driver, hampered by a challenging starting position, immediately inserted himself into the thick of the action. Unfortunately, upon exiting a corner on his second lap, the truck caught a rut and Adler was catapulted into a spectacular barrel roll. While he escaped the incident without injury, the damage to the truck was extensive enough to prohibit Adler from continuing on in the race.
As the crew labored well into the night restoring the truck back to competition condition, Kruseman, himself a respected driving instructor and championship winning sprint car driver was joined by Stewart and Stenhouse in analyzing the vehicle and driver performance.
Round 2 was a much different story as Adler took off from the start in seventh position and passed three trucks in the early going to slip into the fourth spot. A midrace caution flag brought the field back together for another restart and in the ensuing re-start melee, he was caught up in the chaos. Recovering to regain the pace, Adler set consistent lap times for the final laps and brought the 4 Wheel Parts Pro 4 home for a sixth place result.
“It was an exciting weekend for us but we didn’t come away with the results we were looking for,” said a disappointed Adler on Saturday evening after the race. “We wrecked pretty hard on Friday night and the team rallied to get us back on the track the next day. There are some great additions to the crew, and with what we learned and as hard they worked this weekend, I’m looking forward to seeing what we can accomplish in Arizona.”
The Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series will return to Lake Elsinore for Rounds 5&6 on May 30-31. Next up for Greg Adler Motorsports and the Arizona State University alum is the year’s only visit to the Valley of the Sun for Rounds 3&4 at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park in Chandler, Arizona. The 18 Round season will also include visits to Reno and Las Vegas, Nevada, Tooele, Utah and for the first time ever the series heads south of the border into the port city of Ensenada, Mexico.
