4WD Ramps Up Donations and Sponsorships for 2014 Off-Road Causes and Events
Columbiana, Ohio (PRWEB) June 26, 2014 -- 4WD, industry-leading provider of aftermarket Jeep parts and accessories, is ramping up its charitable donations to causes and sponsorships of various 4x4 Jeep club events. Gift cards, bikini Jeep soft tops, raffle baskets, speakers and other parts and accessories are among items 4Wheel Drive Hardware donates to off-road events. May is the month when things really heated up event wise with Jeep clubs staging jamborees, show and shines, mud bogs, outings, and poker runs.
“The spring was a great time to redouble our sponsorship efforts because Jeep club members and enthusiasts started getting out there doing activities and outings,” says Kelly Young, 4WD Internet Manager. “Whether it’s a donation to a specific cause like Cure Chloe’s Cancer or a more general one like a topless Jeep event in support of breast cancer, 4WD wants to be involved.”
Ms. Young founded The Crawl to Cure Cancer, a Jeep crawl event that attends Jeep and off-road related shows and events across the country to raise funds for cancer research. She created The Crawl six years ago after losing her mother to colon and liver cancer. 4WD is a major Crawl to Cure contributor and annual events raising donations include the spring Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, June’s Bantam Jeep Heritage Festival, and the 4Wheel Drive Hardware Jamboree in September.
This year, health-related causes 4WD is participating in include the Benefit for Michelle Matyi who is battling esophageal cancer, the Cruise for a Cure held by Ohio’s Crestview High School and Cure Chloe's Cancer for Hudson Falls, New York 12-year-old Chloe Kilmartin, diagnosed with Osteosarcoma Bone Cancer.
One arena 4WD is consistently involved in are causes honoring military service. In early April, 4WD donated a Flashpaq tuner to the Wheelers For the Wounded event in Kempner, Texas. Later in the month, the organization donated an XRC-8 winch to the Fallen Heroes Jeep Project in Phoenix, Arizona.
May off-roading events that 4WD contributed to included the West Virginia Wicked Jeeps Spring Fling, the Caloosa Jeepers 7th Annual Go Topless Day in Florida and the 11th Annual Jeep Show and Shine held by NoVa Jeepers in Northern Virginia. Among items donated to the events were raffle baskets, fire extinguishers, and two bikini Jeep tops.
Last year 4WD’s charitable donations totaled over $15,000 and they are on pace to contribute even more this year.
