Samsung announced their smart watch called Galaxy Gear, says USA Today, Sept 4.

Tech analyst Jeff Kagan offers comment.

“Samsung is really looking better and stronger as time passes. Typically Apple is first, and we expected them to be first with the smart watch. Samsung beat Apple to the punch with their smart watch called Samsung Galaxy Gear,” says Principal analyst Jeff Kagan.

Today's event introduced three new devices that all talk to each other. The Galaxy Note 3 which is a phone and tablet, Galaxy Gear which is a watch, and Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 which is a tablet.

“These devices are all linked together. This is another step into the future. Customers should love this. Samsung is pushing the innovation envelope. This smart watch will be as popular and successful as their smart phone and tablet. And it will all work together,” says Wireless analyst Jeff Kagan.

“The smart watch will be popular. As smartphones do more, we use them all the time. This way we can make a call or check email on our watch, and much more. I expect Apple to introduce their version of the smart watch called iWatch very soon as well,” says Kagan.
