“AT&T Mobility says it will be the first carrier to sell the new LG smartwatch”, says Technology Industry Analyst Jeff Kagan
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) July 07, 2014
AT&T Mobility said it will be the first US wireless carrier to sell the new LG Electronics smartwatch, according to Reuters, July 7.
Industry analyst Jeff Kagan offers comment.
“This exclusive deal with LG is another big win for AT&T Mobility. The new LG “Watch” smartwatch connects with Google Android phones. Smart watch devices are getting better. They are still brand new and in the first year of use. This LG smartwatch is part of the competitive mix between Samsung, Apple, Motorola and many others as they prepare to enter the space as well,” says Wireless analyst Jeff Kagan.
“This is going to be one helluva year as smartphones start to explode onto the marketplace,” says Technology analyst Kagan.
The LG G Watch connects to Google Android phones. The Samsung smartwatch connects only to Samsung Galaxy smartphones.
“The smartwatch marketplace started within the last year by Samsung. However I expect this segment to pick up steam rapidly as we see other companies and other smart watches jump into the marketplace,” says Tech analyst Kagan.
“I am not sure when it will happen, but the stars seem to be lining up for the second half of this year as several new devices hit the market,” says Principal analyst Kagan.
