Sprint announced their new Sprint LivePro, which is a mini projector and mobile hotspot, according to their July 9 press release.

Industry analyst Jeff Kagan offers comment.

“As Sprint rebuilds it’s network, it is starting to roll out some valuable and unique offerings in the wireless world for different segments of their customer base,” says Wireless Analyst Jeff Kagan.

Sprint LivePro is of value to the business user and consumer.

"Business users who have to make presentations will use this as a projector and Wi-Fi hotspot since it also connects with the Sprint wireless network. Consumers can use this to watch movies or watch television on a wall or outside in the dark. This is a very innovative new device,” says Technology analyst Kagan.

“As anyone who gives presentations knows, you are always at the mercy of the on-site equipment. Is the projector working or is there Internet connection? Anything that goes wrong can ruin a big presentation. This Sprint LivePro device is a portable projector which let’s the user have faith they can make their big presentation. Plus, it provides a Wi-Fi hotspot. Something that is very unique,” says Tech analyst Kagan.

“Between being a projector and connecting to the Sprint network to provide Wi-Fi connectivity for users, this is a very unique and valuable new product in the wireless space for both business users and consumers,” says Principal analyst Kagan.

It looks like this is the new direction for Sprint going forward. Thinking outside the lines and providing new services and devices to solve customer problems.

"Today, we are still in the first few pages of this new book. It will be interesting to watch as Sprint continues to evolve,” says Kagan.
