Industry Analyst Jeff Kagan: AT&T Mobility and Verizon Wireless Prices Dropping
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) April 03, 2014 -- Today's wireless marketplace is changing. We are entering a new era in bundling, services and pricing. In February AT&T Mobility lowered the price of their service for larger customers. According to Fierce Wireless, April 2 Verizon Wireless has now lowered their prices to match AT&T.
Industry analyst Jeff Kagan offers comment.
“This new era which the wireless industry is moving toward is more customer friendly. It has more choices in services and handsets and the way we pay for it all. That’s great news. However it’s still up to the customer to determine the right plan for them and make the switch,” says wireless analyst Kagan.
Expect more of these kinds of changes to come. This is great news for both the customer and the wireless carrier. The customer has new ways to save more money and bundle their services together for easier management. And by offering this to customers, it makes it less likely they will leave for a competitor.
“That means both the customer and the carrier wins. This is what I like to see,” says Principal analyst Kagan.
It’s more than simply price. It’s the ability to give control to the customer to control the way they use and pay for the services they use. If they want to bundle their users together to share one big plan for voice, text and data. Or if they want to pre-pay or post pay. Or if they want to pay for the phone separately, either by paying cash or pay monthly, but separately.
“The wireless marketplace is changing in all sorts of great ways. It is providing more choice than ever for the customer. Customers have more opportunity to get lower prices and easier management than ever before. However it’s up to each customer to make sure they talk with their carrier, explore their options and make a choice. It won’t happen without their effort,” says Technology analyst Kagan.
